Our Partnership with the Center for Youth
The Nook food cupboard is a vital resource ensuring Rochester youth have their basic needs met. To help sustain this effort, IT Insights of Rochester has adopted a shelf at The Nook, pledging monthly contributions of non-perishable food, hygiene items, and household supplies. Our goal is simple: to make sure young people in Monroe County can count on consistent support from both local businesses and caring community members.
This work is made possible through our partnership with the Center for Youth Services Rochester as part of our PosITive Impact initiative. Technology is only one part of our mission – making a difference in the community is just as important. Through long-term commitment and collaboration, we’re proud to stand with organizations that provide Rochester’s youth with stability, resources, and hope.
What Is The Nook?
Located at the Center for Youth’s main office in Rochester, The Nook is more than just a food cupboard – it is a hub of youth empowerment in Rochester. Stocked with non-perishable foods, hygiene items, and household supplies, it directly supports young people who may otherwise struggle to meet their basic needs.
But the impact goes further. In conjunction with The Nook, the nonprofit organization delivers educational programs and youth life skills training in Rochester. These programs cover essentials such as nutrition, cooking, grocery budgeting, and mental health awareness, ensuring that young people build independence and resilience beyond the school year.
Why IT Insights Adopted a Shelf
Through the Center’s Adopt a Shelf program, businesses, churches, and community organizations are invited to step in and help. Each partner is assigned specific products to collect and donate regularly. IT Insights Rochester embraced this opportunity as part of our ongoing corporate social responsibility in Rochester.
Our shelf commitment ensures that youth receive consistent resources all year long, reflecting our belief that corporate giving in Rochester should be proactive, not reactive. For us, filling shelves at The Nook isn’t just about food – it’s about social impact in Rochester, providing stability, and showing that the IT company community impact extends far beyond technology.
